GRADES & KUKKIWON

In Taekwondo, progression is built step by step. Grades allow each practitioner to measure technical, physical and mental development within a structured and recognized system.

PROGRESSION IN TAEKWONDO

Kup grades

Kup grades correspond to the progression of students before black belt. They represent stages of learning, consistency and technical development.

Dan grades

Dan grades concern black belts. They represent a deeper commitment to practice, transmission and martial responsibility.

Structured progression

Each grading examination sets clear objectives adapted to the age, level and progression rhythm of every practitioner.

Worldwide reference

KUKKIWON

Located in South Korea, Kukkiwon is recognized as the World Taekwondo Headquarters. It is an international reference for Dan grade recognition and the worldwide development of Taekwondo.

International recognition

Grades recognized by Kukkiwon have official value within worldwide Taekwondo.

Connection with Korea

Kukkiwon represents the historical and institutional connection with Korean Taekwondo tradition.

Technical standards

Progression toward higher grades requires discipline, consistency, technical mastery and personal commitment.

GRADING EXAMINATIONS

Examinations evaluate the practitioner’s progression according to age, level and commitment. They are not only technical validation, but also an important step in building discipline, confidence and perseverance.
