Club "Wolf Academy" (Olivier Dewandre)
A little over a year ago, my taekwondo academy chose to create a partnership with Master Kim’s Academy.
During 2024, we had the privilege of welcoming and meeting Master Kim, his sabeumnim and his kiosanim on several occasions. They came either for the club tour or for the seminars linked to belt examinations. I also had the opportunity to participate as a jury member during black belt examinations and to attend several Monday classes !!!
We were looking for teaching based on martial values and for the return of traditional taekwondo within our dojang. We found much more : a return to the roots, with frequent explanations of the “how and why”, and of course a new family / community of practitioners and black belts.
At every meeting, we have the chance to discover new exercises or techniques that help us improve our speed in sparring, refine our poomsae through specific hip work, and learn the basics of Hapkido. Flexibility and physical conditioning have also become part of our daily challenges.
New aspects have also appeared such as : kichos, tile breaking and the creation of poomsae for Dan examinations.
The administrative management is also excellent : ordering doboks, registration and renewal of licenses, kup diplomas and especially the organization of examinations !!!
