Master Kim

Master Kim, 7th Dan Kukkiwon and founder of the Academy, teaches every day of the week, alternating with his instructors depending on the day and the club.

Originally from Korea, he has been teaching for over 40 years, to both children and adults.

A former sparring competitor with the Belgian national team and military elite athlete, he participated in the World Championships in Barcelona in 1987.

He continues to contribute to the development of taekwondo by introducing thousands of young people to the art through school programmes across the country.

He constantly expands his knowledge by regularly attending seminars, training sessions, updates, and exams organised by Kukkiwon in Seoul.

Each of his Dan grades was presented before a Korean examination jury.

Grand Master Kim teaches with heart and dedication, tirelessly and passionately promoting taekwondo and the values of this martial art.

Why does Master Kim follow the Kukkiwon pathway (World Headquarters in South Korea) for himself and his students?

His goal is to award globally recognised diplomas that remain valid long-term and are accepted by all official bodies. In the interest of continuity, he offers his students the same opportunities and access that he himself received, with the potential for constant progression through official qualifications recognised worldwide (black belt, instructor, judge/examiner, referee, coach, granting ranks, etc.).

Kukkiwon is the only universal authority for recognised taekwondo instruction and is also the body that grants recognition to national federations in each country.

With more than 90 million members, its role is to regulate and standardise taekwondo practice around the world.

Master Kim’s teaching is mainly focused on martial values and self-defence.
